We all lead incredibly busy lives these days, but self-care is an important part of wellness. Finding time for self-care is always a challenge. Figuring out how and where to start can be even more challenging.

Active Kitchener’s ActivNet: Your Easy Button

City of Kitchener has made it incredibly easy to find out what is available across the city at various facilities. Just a  few clicks online —  and a wide variety of activities are yours to explore. Absolutely check it out. You will find a host of possible activities for you and your family, some are free of charge.

New to the city — or just for something new.

New to Kitchener and love team sports?  Find a sports league and connect with like minded people! Even if you aren’t new to the city, sometimes reaching out and finding new interests and making new friends can help reduce the life stress and anxiety we are all subject to on some level.

Activities & Exercise for Wellness

We all take for granted that regular exercise is good for the body. But exercise is also one of the most effective ways to improve your mental health. Regular exercise — even just 15 minutes a few times a week —  can have a profoundly positive impact on depression, anxiety, ADHD, and more. It also relieves stress, improves memory, helps you sleep better, and boosts overall mood. And you don’t have to be a fitness fanatic to reap the benefits.

For some people, including my wife Jessica  (pictured here launched at the volley ball) competitive sports league are a lifesaver, and Active Net has allowed her to find adult leagues with dates and time that fit into our busy schedules.
Do visit the Active Kitchener main page, but for now I’ve included some category links for you to explore. You will find something for every age.
